Airport summary
John F. Kennedy International Airport is the aerial gateway to New York, a world metropolis. It is located 24 kilometers southeast of midtown Manhattan. After opening as an international airport in 1948, it became the huge airport that it is today after undergoing repeated remodeling and expansion in order to meet increased foreign airline traffic. The airport has eight separate terminals. Inter-terminal connections can be made by Airtrain. Most foreign flights bound for the New York area arrive at either John F. Kennedy International Airport or Newark International Airport. There is also LaGuardia Airport which is primarily for domestic US flights.

The AirTrain makes a circuit around the airport 24 hours a day. The AirTrain operates every four to twelve minutes. It takes about 8 minutes to circle the whole airport. Taxis are also available.
United Airlines is located in the same terminal as ANA (Terminal 7).
Baggage carts
Baggage carts cost $3.00 per cart for both arrivaing and departing customers.
(Only bills are accepted to pay for the cart.)
Currency exchange
Currency exchange is available at three locations in the Arrival Lobby (First floor); there is one currency exchange in the Departure Lobby (Third floor). They operate according to flight schedules. Note: They may sometimes be closed due to the absence of attendants.
Cafe
Cafes operate in accordance with flight schedules.
